Use Zoning - Why pay to heat and cool rooms you are not occupying?
Use high efficiency equipment such as variable speed furnaces and 2 stage condensers.
Replace filters once a month or as needed. Clean filters keep your air flowing with less energy.
Run ceiling and room fans during hot season. Mixing the hot air near the ceiling with the cool air near the floor lets the thermostat control the temperature more smoothly.
Close all windows and blinds while running the air conditioner. If you feel warmth from the sunlight coming through your window, chances are you are paying extra to cool that sunlight.
Make sure all duct work and attic space is well insulated. Keep the temperature in the rooms you want, not in the attic.
Have our licensed technicians perform routine maintenance at least once a year on all heating and cooling equipment. Regular preventative maintenance can catch problems early before they turn into a big expense.
Start running air conditioner early in the day on hot day to prevent excessive run time on your equipment.
Replace equipment if it is over 10 years old. Technology is continually improving, getting more efficient and more cost effective.
Make sure air conditioner meets 13 SEER or better.
Replace your unit if cost of repair exceeds $250 on equipment over 10 years old.
